Hands of Hope Clinic, located in Stockbridge, is a non-profit clinic that provides free basic health care to Henry county residents in need, most of whom are “working poor” – they do not earn enough to afford traditional insurance but earn too much to qualify for Medicaid or similar financial assistance programs.

The full-time clinic staff of four people is supported by numerous volunteers, often from Kaiser Permanente Georgia. Robert Cohen, MD, managing physician for Southwood and Henry Facilities, volunteers every month and is frequently joined by medical staff from Southwood and Henry Towne Center.

Dr. Cohen sees an increasing need for such community services and actively recruits additional volunteers to expand clinic offerings.
