Lisa Billars, MD Named TSPMG Chief of Neurology

The Southeast Permanente Medical Group is pleased to announce that Lisa Billars, MD has been named Chief of Neurology for Kaiser Permanente of Georgia.

Dr. Billars. will fill the role previously held by Cecily Cole, MD, who wants to concentrate on clinical medicine at this point. As our first Chief of neurology, she helped build and expand the department. We will miss Dr. Cole in this role, and I want to thank her for her time and devotion to the department.

Dr. Billars is a bright, energetic, well-spoken physician who is extremely well regarded by her neurology colleagues and the rest of the medical group. I have no doubt that, under Dr. Billars' leadership, the department of neurology will continue to forge ahead and thrive.

Dr. Billars received her medical degree from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine and completed her neurology residency and a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology and sleep medicine at Emory University Hospital. She is Board certified in both Neurology and Sleep Medicine.  Prior to joining TSPMG in 2011, she was in private practice in Albany, NY.
