Dr. Billars and Dr. Kumar join TSPMG Neurology

The Southeast Permanente Medical Group is pleased to announce that Lisa Billars, MD and Ramesh Kumar, MD have joined the Neurology department for Kaiser Permanente of Georgia. The addition of Dr. Billars and Dr. Kumar to the team will help improve access to TSPMG care.

Dr. Billars received her medical degree from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine and completed her neurology residency and a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology and sleep medicine at Emory University Hospital. She is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Prior to joining TSPMG, she was in private practice in Albany, NY.

Dr. Kumar received his medical degree from Stanley Medical College and completed an internal medicine residency at Mercy Catholic Hospital in Philadelphia. He also completed a residency in neurology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and a fellowship in neurophysiology/epilepsy at Indiana University and Purdue University. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

New Cardiologist Joins TSPMG; Practice and Services Expanding

The Southeast Permanente Medical Group is pleased to announce that Angela Morello, MD has joined our Cardiology department and began seeing patients in July. Dr. Morello will be based in our newly expanded Kaiser Permanente Southwood Medical Center Cardiology practice, which opens to patients on Tuesday, August 16. In addition to consults and follow-up appointments to members in the Southwood catchment area, Dr. Morello will provide Electrophysiology services. An additional cardiologist will join the practice in the near future to offer Electrophysiology to Kaiser Permanente members on the north side of Atlanta.

Dr. Morello received her medical degree from the State University of New York – Stony Brook School of Medicine, and completed her residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and her fellowship training in Cardiology and Electrophysiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology.

Southwood Expansion

Our Kaiser Permanente Medical Center Southwood Cardiology practice is significantly expanding access for members south of Atlanta. The department, located on the third floor, provides space for four full-time cardiologists and a full range of testing and treatment, echocardiograms, stress tests including stress echocardiogram and nuclear perfusion imaging.
